Run down hotel

Unfortunately the hotel is run down . We were puut in the annex rooms , walls paper thin could hear people taking in the room next door . Rooms weren’t ready at 3pm for check in . Asked for an extra pillow as no spare in room at 11.40 and it was 0045 before i got them . Staff were very rude and abrupt in the hotel with the exception of the leisure staff who were very pleasant . Breakfast wasnt the best in the morning very little staff on and took a while to get seated . Bar in the main area closed at 10.30pm and eating places were restricted times . You had to use the carbto travel anywhere. Would definitely not return . We had 6 rooms booked at this hotel and everyone felt the same

We go ti aviemore at least once a year the hotel staff and food was excellent and i would go back with our 2 digs
However i was surprised that when i went to leave a tip for the staff that i could not add that to my card i dont carry cash however found some money in my wallet and i gave it to the young man as i work in the catering world tips on card should be allowed then give to staff in tronic tip system when no cash sales happen
Please sort this as thats how people tip now and i look forward to hearing from youand just to let you know in the past 10 years i have worked with Cawley hotels the Rad Group and now Manorview and all allow this form of tip
Great for a one night stop

Room for us plus dog was comfortable and clean, a good atmosphere in the lounge and live music in the Woodshed bar. Lots of great walks in the area for the dog and a cold water swim for me.
Food was disappointing but it was great for a night and day stopover.

The hotel is very tired. Our room was ok albeit VERY VERY warm even with the window open and the weather wasn’t particularly warm. The bathroom was dirty and for some reason, toilet brushes aren’t provided. The food was also average. To be honest, I don’t know why itison is promoting this.
Clean, calm and comfortable

We were very impressed overall, and particularly appreciated being given a spacious room with a lovely view of the woods. Everything was clean and functional.
Spa facilities were a welcome bonus and not at all crowded even though the hotel was at capacity.
Absolute best asset to this hotel were the staff, who were unfailingly friendly, helpful, competent and professional.
It would be lovely to see some more vegetarian options on the menus and perhaps give some restoration love to the poor dinosaurs who at one time were clearly a great idea but now look and sound like they're headed for a second extinction.

The hotel is older but we couldn’t fault the cleanliness of the hotel at all. Staff were friendly & helpful. Pool facilities were good. It’s a great base too for exploring the local area.

Enjoyed our visit. however was disappointed with our visit to the woodshed.
There seemed to be only one person on duty, and the place was fairly full.
There was no sign of anyone at the bar initially, then the barman appeared carrying empty glasses.he was in no hurry to see to us.
We ate in the hotel that night and the food was really good.

This was a lovely resort hotel situated just outside Aviemore with woodlands surrounding it. Easy parking and lots of of activities to choose from . It's a large hotel so there was a bit of a walk from the reception to the room as we were staying in the annexe. Only criticism was that a bit of a queue gathered to get into the breakfast room on our second day because you had to give your room number - which is fair enough - but then the queue had to wait until you were shown to a table. Would have been quicker if after giving your room number you could find your own table !

Room big in main building big, a bit dated but ok and clean.
Breakfast ok. Checked in late about 8.00pm no problem, reception very helpful.
Singer in reception Thursday night was good.
Reception area, dining room and public toilets clean and modern.
