I have been to the Grand Central numerous times using an itison voucher and always had a good experience so will put this visit down to it being an ‘off day’ for them! To start with the room next to where you sit had a function with a karaoke which was extremely loud and exceptionally poor singing which didn’t match the afternoon tea vibe, service was poor however plenty staff who spent more time resetting tables then serving customers and very difficult to get their attention. We, after finally asking to order, received our drinks then waited some more, the table next who had arrived around 15 mins after us then received their afternoon tea but had not ordered any drinks so I think it was delivered to the wrong table. By the time our food arrived we had finished our tea and Bellini so the tea was replenished. It was all just unorganised. We did receive a complimentary drink due to the wait and mix-up, but I know this could have been better. Two members of staff said the delays were due to using a different kitchen but that shouldn’t be an issue and not for the customer. We were also told that the karaoke function had been booked for a long time in advance but whoever took the booking should have considered the location and used a different room. Would I go again… yes as I know it can be a lovely day out, the setting can be lovely and the afternoon tea is good!!

We went for my mums 70th birthday. It was wonderful. The staff were amazing and attentive. The food was delicious.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Sweet treats and scones were delicious. Small attention to detail but there were no teaspoons on the table we just used a fork.
Afternoon tea was lovely but there were only 2 finger sandwiches for each person although there were 2 scones for each person. Maybe give each person 1 scone each and give more sandwiches

Loved our afternoon tea here. Delicious food, lovely setting. Will definitely be back...all being well with the building after yesterday! Wishing all the staff the very best.

No hot water for tea or coffee we were told. Got one mocktail instead. But when having the food other people were getting hot drinks. Food was OK. Had better

Lovely surroundings and staff were very friendly and professional. The afternoon tea was well presented with good variety of savoury and sweet items. I am gluten free and it was just as good if not better than the non-gluten free option. The scones were amazing. Thoroughly recommend Grand Central.
